The Fondation P. Gianadda invites you to a new concert on Sunday January 19 at 11:00 am.
Camille Saint-Saëns composed his Carnaval des Animaux to liven up a cellist friend’s “Mardi Gras”.
A veritable animal painter, the French composer presents a truculent fauna that cackles, clucks and giggles to music. It’s hard to resist the unbridled humor of this bestiary, which parodies themes borrowed from Rameau, Offenbach and Rossini, as well as well-known children’s songs.
A classic from the repertoire, this joyful evocation of the animal world will delight young and old alike.
