Cinémanoir joins forces with Le Gore des Alpes to introduce you to a few pearls of dark and sinister cinema... A book - a film, with a reading of a selected extract preceding each screening.
STREET TRASH 1987
Gore
Street Trash
Gore film by George Jim Muro (USA, 1987)
Original version with subtitles
With Mike Lackey, Bill Chepil, Pat Ryan
What’s it about?
The owner of a small local grocery store finds a stock of bad booze in his cellar, which he sells at a discount to the local tramps. A bad idea. Anyone who takes a sip from these cursed bottles will end up painting the walls with their guts.
It all started with a short film for his school graduation. Encouraged by his teachers, Muro turned it into a feature-length film, absurd and decadent, which became a cult hit over the years thanks to VHS. Strangely enough, this is the only film by Jim Muro, who today totally disowns it.
Les Intoxiqués – Olive – Gore des Alpes – 2019
Petty thugs, drugs and alcohol. The setting may have changed, but the recipe is the same as that used by Olive in Les Intoxiqués, and it hits the nail on the head. Needless to say, Olive has never denied his book.
